In the superimposition of nature and abstraction, the work refers to the ancient concept of hyle - the malleable basic material that carries all potential within it. The growth rings and textures of the wood, originally marked by time and the environment, give way to a net-like structure on the surface that is reminiscent of 3D renderings and emphasizes the modular, unfinished character of the sculpture: The logs embody this state of possibility, reinforced by the mathematical symbol “=” of connection and balance.
