In "Sleek and smooth like a back of dolphin" (2024), Ju Young Kim transfers a photograph of an airplane onto glass and frames it with laser-cut stainless steel, so that its materiality merges into a surreal-looking wall piece. Attached to the back of an airplane seat like a screen, the image shows the plane approaching. In her symbolically coded works, the artist examines transitional states in order to open up new perspectives on the phenomena of a globalized world.
