jenna sutela is nominated for the pauli-prize of the kunsthalle bremen

The Pauli Prize, endowed with 30,000 euros, will be awarded for the 49th time in 2024. Since its founding in 1954 by the HAG AG, the prize has been awarded every two years and is one of the most significant awards for contemporary art in Germany. The competitive exhibition, in which all eight nominated artists present their works, will take place from August 24 to October 13, 2024. The artistic positions were nominated by six international curators, the director of the Kunsthalle Bremen, Prof. Dr. Christoph Grunenberg, and the patrons of the Pauli Prize. During the exhibition, a renowned five-member jury of experts will announce the prize winner.

Jenna Sutela (*1983 in Turku, Finland, lives and works in Berlin) was nominated by Stefanie Böttcher, Kunsthalle Mainz. The artist uses biological and computer-based systems to create works and uncover hidden patterns. Her process-oriented works reflect the socio-political consequences of the latest scientific research.
