Schaustelle Sindelfingen presents the exhibition Untiefe with works from the Schaufler Collection by Brigtte Kowanz and other artists such as John M Armleder, Sylvie Fleury, Katharina Grosse, Subodh Gupta, Joseph Kosuth, Robert Longo and Franz West.
In German, the term Untiefe is associated with two opposing meanings: shallow spots in the water that pose a danger to navigation, as well as abysses and bottomless depths. The exhibition picks up on this exciting polarity. Here, seemingly shallow, seductively beautiful works are juxtaposed with works that deal with time-critical content and current issues. The presentation covers the entire spectrum of genres: Painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and installations.
