justin urbach and tatjana vall explore the intersections between physical, digital and metaphorical worlds

In the exhibition Haptic Phantoms, Tatjana Vall and Justin Urbach examine the fragility of membranes - physically, digitally and metaphorically. The two artists explore various intersections between the organic and the mechanical, reality and simulation, body and interface. At the centre is the joint work Empty Shell, which refers to an ocean expedition in which a camera robot captures images of a normally inaccessible space. The exhibition is complemented by other works that expand its narrative and material dimension. It combines media such as paper engravings and AI-generated prints to create a world between reality and imagination, inviting visitors to experience the mutability of materiality and identity.
