spectral void [ma] | jürgen partenheimer

13 September - 9 November 2024 Berlin
overview

In spectral void [ma], Jürgen Partenheimer explores the meaning of essential void, which defines aesthetically, philosophically and ecologically necessary free spaces. The Japanese term "Ma" stands for void as an aesthetic experience and as a sign of discontinuity in the sense of pausing. Partenheimer's installation marks the spatial energy in which the void as an essential absence points to the connection between things. The balance of distance, its subtle rhythm, emphasizes the dialogue of dynamic energy between sculpture, image and space. Partenheimer's non-objective minimalism is characterized by the preservation of open, unoccupied space, which enables meditation and critical reflection as a spiritual experience. In his work, the artist explores the border areas between reality and imagination, the visible and the invisible, dealing with themes of pure sensation, fragility and indeterminacy. Partenheimer translates complex conceptual content into abstract visual energy, opening up a world view that transcends the boundaries of objects and leads to the inner world of sensation. Thus, the work bears witness to explored identity and the act of giving form to this identity.

Jürgen Partenheimer's first solo exhibition at max goelitz in Berlin opens parallel to Berlin Art Week.
