inventing the past | group show
The international group exhibition inventing the past with Neïl Beloufa, Natacha Donzé, Lou Jaworski, Haroon Mirza and Keith Sonnier follows closely on the heels of the show chasing another tomorrow and, as a second chapter, signifies a change of perspective in terms of time. The diverse artistic positions are united by a shared conceptual approach that questions the effects of technology on both current and future human existence. A reflection on the present, the current exhibition illustrates our fundamental human need for progress as well as our heightened sensibility for the natural environment. This overlap of technology and nature creates a field of tension from which the works draw their complex interplay of geometric forms, electrical components, and natural elements.
As part of Various Others 2021, max goelitz presents works by multiple Biennial participant Neïl Beloufa together with guest gallery François Ghebaly from Los Angeles. The exhibition takes place with the support of Häusler Contemporary Zurich and Lisson Gallery, London and is sponsored by NEUSTART KULTUR of Stiftung Kunstfonds.
